Dr Susanne Lingohr-Wolf

Counsellor

Dr Susanne Lingohr-Wolf knows first-hand the struggles of TCK/TCA (Third Culture Kid/ Adult) and Expat lives. After working as a development consultant for the United Nations, Susanne’s life journey has led her to pursue a Master of Counselling degree at the Executive Counselling and Training Academy, Singapore.

Born in Germany, she has been living in Singapore for 12 years with her husband and three children. She holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies and a PhD from the University of London.

She is passionate about supporting fellow expats to process the hidden losses and integrate the fragmented sense of self with the help of counselling. Due to her extensive international experience, Susanne is well placed to interact with people from all cultural backgrounds.

As a counsellor, Susanne aims to provide clients with a safe space for development. She believes that with the proper guidance, the client has the ability to solve their problems, move forward and become what they are capable of becoming. It is her belief that, just like exercise, counselling is also an important part of self-care to lead a healthy and fulfilling life.

Susanne’s therapeutic style is an integrative approach combining elements of person-centred Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, CBT and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. She specifically aims at enhancing clients’ mental, emotional and social resilience in a culturally sensitive way. Her ultimate goal is to empower the clients to make the necessary changes to feel more in control of their lives and improve their relationships.

Susanne enjoys working with individuals of all ages, including teenagers. She is available for in-person or online sessions
